Dr. Patricia Jacobs has taught English language arts at the elementary, middle, high school, and university level in diverse settings both in the United States and overseas. Her global perspective instilled in her a love of literacy and sharing her passion with teachers and students in settings all over the world.
In the summer of 2015, Dr. Jacobs travelled to Haiti to participate in a Teachers Summer Institute in Croix des Bouquets. While working with teachers during two courses she taught: Teaching Writing through Personal Stories and Strategies for Reading Comprehension in Content Area Subjects, she became inspired to share her expertise with teachers and students in developing countries across the globe. She began to create curriculum guides and lessons that could be accessed digitally on iPad devices anywhere a mobile network is available. As she continues to develop materials, she imagines teachers in any type of setting being able to use her literacy lessons to support reading comprehension, content area learning, and the writing and sharing of personal stories.
